Lead Draftsperson

Job descriptionStrategy Supporting the relevant product line by delivering fit for purpose designs and drawings as well as providing feedback into product improvements and providing input into new and innovative product development. Execution Approving drawings as appropriate, escalating to engineering for approval as required as well as driving works programs to proactively document designs and drawings to enable pricing and rapid supply where customer requirements are known prior to orders. Culture Work collaboratively with sales, engineers and operations to deliver appropriate solutions to customer needs whilst considering Design for Manufacture alongside being able to lead, train and mentor new and / or junior staff in PROK product range, design tools and drawing standards Structure Reviewing and understand client drawings and requirements whilst providing guidance to the team on consistent execution Innovation Support the business through design and drafting activities, specifically the creation of 3D models in the design software to satisfy project requirements, using configuration models as appropriate. Staying ahead of the game Effectively actioning feedback from customer, sales, engineering and shop floor via model and drawing updates, respecting appropriate part number and dealing with modifications and revisions changes About you Skilled Professional Engineering degree / diploma or related discipline with 10-years' experience in drafting for industrial environments and 5 years experience as Senior of Lead Draftsperson is highly desirable Technical Expert Inventor, Solidworks or similar parametric 3D design software experience, and knowledge of standards and design principles, inclusive of to AS4100 / AS3990 / AS1170 Methodical and Passionate Person With exceptional levels of attention to detail, while adhering to various deadlines and in complex environments Strategic Thinker You possess commercial acumen with the ability to address and solve complex problems. Strong Communicator With great interpersonal skills, an energetic persona, conflict management skills and the ability to lead and mentor team members Relentless bias to action You're enthusiastic about getting things done, whilst being entrepreneurial and professional.
