About the position

CSL Australia is currently looking for a permanent full time Chief Officer to join our transhipment operations in Western Australia. Reporting to the Master, the Chief Officer is the head of the Deck Department.

In addition, the Chief Officer will be responsible for :

• Designated safety officer;
• The safe and efficient planning of cargo and ballast handling operations;
• Providing guidance and support to the Deck Officers including Deck Cadets;
• Having comprehensive knowledge of all maintenance and repair needs of the deck and throughout the accommodation;
• Assuming Masters responsibilities and command of the vessel in the absence of the Master.
