The Victoria Daly Regional Council is a local government area in the Northern Territory of Australia. Council's vision for the Victoria Daly region is "Moving Forward Together ", becoming a well-respected and recognised leader within Australia's Local Government. Council aims to work towards developing a broad range of strategies that will help shape its vision for the region through excellent service delivery and community engagement; assisting to build one of the most sustainable, vibrant, and diverse regions in Australia.
About the role
As Chief Executive Officer you will work to deliver exceptional customer service to the Victoria Daly Regional Council communities, managing the Councils Day to day operations. including the management of Council staff.
You will implement Council vision, policy and develop systems to ensure Council's affairs are conducted in ways that are transparent, accountable, efficient, and compliant with all Acts, laws, regulations, and policies. Through advanced understanding of community trends, the environment, and policy implications you will evaluate complex and strategic issues, assess options and risks, and make effective decisions.
Additionally, in conjunction with the mayor, you will establish annual performance objectives that deliver on the Regional Plan of Council and strategic deliverables communicating the Council's vision in a clear compelling meaningful way.
About the person
To be considered, you will have proven leadership at the Chief Executive Officer level, with the ability to understand and implement legislation impacting on Local Government.
With an expert knowledge of financial, staff management, and governance disciplines you will understand that good working relationships between people are fundamental to achieving progress at Victoria Daly Regional Council.
Your exceptional communication skills and deep values will enable you to create a positive culture and deliver outcomes while managing risk and driving community satisfaction and engagement.
