The Salvation Army Housing Intake, Assessment and Planning (IAP) service provides rapid crisis intervention and interim support to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

The Salvation Army Australia's Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person-centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support all cohorts in case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

About the role
We are currently seeking a values-driven IAP Worker to provide, as part of a team, quality assessment, referral, and provision of housing information to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless throughout Victoria East (site / catchment dependent).
You will successfully
Provide linkages into community supports and programs for clients who are homeless or at risk of homelessness with multiple and complex needsWork collaboratively within the broader programs of the Salvation Army (TSA) to provide an integrated support response to the target groupDevelop support / action or safety plans to respond to the immediate needs, risk, or vulnerabilities of the presenting client.This is a permanent part time position, 68.4 hours per fortnight based in Nunawading.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award, Level 5.
You will have
Relevant tertiary qualification in social work, community services, youth work, psychology or community development - diploma level (minimum)Ability to understand and respond to the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessnessUnderstands and applies homelessness models, approaches, theories and practices when dealing with clientsWorks effectively with people who exhibit multiple / compounded service needs and or are chronically disadvantagedA current VIC Drivers LicenceValid VIC Employee Working with Children CheckAbility to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in AustraliaWhat we offer
