These positions will be a permanent full-time opportunity working on alternative week patterns - Monday to Friday Dayshift 6 am - 2.30. pm / Monday to Thursday Afternoon shift 1.30 pm - 10.30 & Friday 1.30 pm - 7.30 pm.
- About the role
- Disassemble, inspect, requalify, assemble of HME / Locomotive components (wheel motors, alternators, traction motors, cartridges, blower, radiator fans)
- Measure and inspect critical journals / bores
- Brazing and insulating cable and winding joints
- Requalification inspections of bearings and pinions
- Acceptance no-load testing components, including vibration analysis
- Ensure active involvement in Lean practices
- A strong commitment to maintaining a safety environment
- Engagement and commitment to UGL OneHSE culture
- Extensive in-house training provided
- About You
- Relevant Trade Qualification as Electrical Fitter; Electrical Machine Repair or equivalent
- Experience in the overhaul of AC and DC traction motors.
- Experience in overhaul of alternators and / or rotating electrical equipment.
- Sound Electrical and Mechanical experience required
- Experience in similar roles working on GE or EMD motor and associated equipment is highly regarded
- High level of measuring skills and eye for detail and quality standards
- Strong communication skills. Both oral and written
