The Unit
Cabrini is the largest provider of private cancer services in Australia. This fully integrated cancer service includes all sub specialities and provides rapid access to all services, treatments and specialists.
Cabrini provides a unique palliative model of care which includes the inpatient unit, community service, supportive care clinic, consult / liaison role. This comprehensive service ensures that a high level of palliative care is provided throughout the disease trajectory.
The Role
The Palliative Community Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of specialist palliative care to patients and their families within the home setting. Our goals focus on expert symptom management, end of life care in the location of choice (if appropriate) and supporting families within the community. This rewarding role is autonomous but also supported within the wider interdisciplinary team and all arms of the service.
Essential :
Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
Current Police Check
Victorian Working with Children Check
Current Victorian Drivers Licence
Experience in Palliative Care
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
The ability to work autonomously and within an interdisciplinary team
Desirable but not essential :
Post Graduate Qualification in Palliative Care or oncology
Community experience
