We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Governance Specialist to join our team in Perth. This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of Australia's largest companies as they embark on their data governance journey. The role has evolved to focus on hands-on implementation of best-in-class data governance processes and tools, as well as stakeholder management to support the company's data maturity goals.
About the Team and CompanyThe central Technology team (data and digital) is at the forefront of building practical, market-leading data governance processes and frameworks. We care deeply about best practice in customer data management, privacy, and building a solid foundation for data governance. We are looking for someone who is passionate about leveraging new tools and technologies to improve our data management and governance capabilities.
ResponsibilitiesImplement the data governance framework for the centralised business.Leverage modern tools for data management, finding ways to automate processes and ensure data quality.Consult with internal stakeholders and support the build and use of data assets.Work closely with technology leadership, risk, security, privacy, data engineering and technology teams, executive leadership and more.Focus on practical implementation of data management processes and technology in a large environment, such as Microsoft Purview, Alation or Collibra.Drive data governance maturity through hands-on implementation of data governance processes and tools.Support the development of data governance processes and procedures.Ensure compliance with information security and cyber security standards, particularly around customer data.RequirementsMinimum 4 years' experience in data management and ideally some data governance in a large business environment.Experience in Alation, Collibra, Purview, Dell Boomi, IBM Infosphere, Erwin, or similar data management tools would be ideal.Cloud platform experience with Snowflake, Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform (Azure is preferable).Understanding of information security and / or cyber security standards, particularly around customer data.Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Strong communication and presentation skills.Passion for driving data governance maturity and practical implementation of data governance processes and tools.This is a hybrid work role, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
