Software Development Manager

Precise Business Solutions is a well-established software company (celebrating 30 years of success), specializing in the provision and implementation of Epicor ERP software, as well as our own companion software applications. We have a team of over 50 people located globally, including Perth, Melbourne, the UK, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Vietnam, and the US.

About The Role

As Software Development Manager, you will lead the product development team to ensure the successful delivery of software solutions developed by Precise. This includes :

• Promoting team cohesion and teambuilding across multiple geographic locations, providing employee coaching, mentoring, and career development plans.
• Continuously evaluating ways to improve existing and in-development projects.
• Providing architectural and technical leadership to the product development team.
• Managing product development activities through the entire SDLC by developing and executing product release project plans, managing resource schedules, task allocations, and budgets.
• Deploying and executing an AGILE development framework incorporating SCRUM and fortnightly Sprint delivery.
• Providing detailed time estimates and scheduling input for software development work proposals.
• Continuously improving departmental processes, including coding standards, technical documentation, QA processes, build, and configuration management, ensuring adherence to practices.
• Operational responsibility for internal systems supporting the product development team.

About You

Substantial experience in the software industry, including development lead / manager roles with project management responsibilities.

Extensive experience with developing and delivering n-tier commercial / enterprise software solutions, managing the full SDLC, and shipping at least 2-3 large enterprise products.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to motivate colleagues, partners, and customers.

Excellent negotiation and consensus-building skills for internal and external projects.

Strong technical background with extensive experience in software design and development in VB / VB.Net, C / C++ / C#, SQL Server.

Previous experience with global ERP systems is desirable.
