Discover more via our websiteand stay connected with our stories and people on LinkedIn.Your new team – "ARC Centre of Excellence for the Mathematical Analysis of Cellular Systems (MACSYS)"Established in 2024, our interdisciplinary team at MACSYS brings together biologists, computer scientists, physicists and mathematicians at various career stages to actively tackle the mathematical modelling of bacterial and yeast cells.The MACSYS team is coordinated across five universities who contribute to our research and cultural activity, with the lead node established at The University of Melbourne within the Faculty of Science.About the roleAs Indigenous Outreach and Education Coordinator for MACSYS, you'll play a important role in bridging mathematics and biology through innovative education and community engagement.You will lead, develop and implement strategies to enhance Indigenous participation in STEM, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and drive impactful outreach initiatives.A great opportunity to lead and shape the future of mathematical biology education while promoting Indigenous ways of knowing in a world-class research environment.Key ResponsibilitiesUndertake the development of an Aboriginal Community Engagement, Partnership and Economic Advancement Strategy for MACSYS.Promote and embed Indigenous perspectives across the Centre's activities.Coordinate STEM engagement activities for schools and communities, including collaboration with existing University programs : Melbourne Indigenous STEM Education Program (MISEP), and Residential Indigenous Science Experience (RISE) for year 9 and 10 Indigenous students.Build and maintain meaningful relationships with educational institutions, Indigenous communities, and industry partners to enhance MACSYS's impact and reach.Who we are looking forIf you are a strategic thinker with a passion for Indigenous engagement, who also holds excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups, you will excel in this role.You'll bringRelevant tertiary qualification or equivalent combination of experience and training.Deep understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.Demonstrated experience in project management, including budget oversight and working to tight timelines.
