The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia's largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely.
About The Role
We are currently seeking a committed Casual Support Workers to join our Brisbane Recovery Services Centre located at Red Hill.
This role plays a vital part in providing consistent, participant-focused support in a safe and structured environment, aligned with The Salvation Army's guidelines and recovery-based service model.
How You Will Make An Impact
Develop positive and supportive relationships with participants that foster self-determination and active engagement in their recovery journey.Identify and assess risks related to activities, communicate mitigation strategies to management.Perform general support tasks as needed, such as light cleaning, preparing rooms for new arrivals, and transporting participants to appointments.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and data in line with TSA procedures and standards.Promptly report any risks to participants, staff, or the organisation to the relevant supervisor.
What You Will Bring
Hold a relevant certificate qualification and / or have previous industry experience or on-the-job training. A diploma-level qualification is also acceptable.Possess a current First Aid Certificate and CPRPossess a valid Driver's Licence.
