This pivotal role will support and guide operational teams in managing investigation quality, supporting analysis of food safety incidents, and applying risk-based action planning using the hierarchy of control.
You will also contribute to governance, crisis management, and incident review frameworks, making a real impact in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.THE ROLEThe Investigations and Governance Manager is primarily responsible for managing the quality of HSE investigations across Compass Group Australia and performing Governance activities across HSEQ programs.Main responsibilities : Investigation QualityDesign and implement investigation modules for HSEQ and Operations, including evidence and statement collectionCoach teams to improve the accuracy, consistency, and depth of HSEQ investigationsEstablish best-practice investigation methods for all incidents, including food safety incidentsGuide teams in identifying effective corrective actions using the hierarchy of controlDrive continuous improvement of investigation and incident management proceduresSignificant InvestigationLead investigations into high-potential or significant incidents, using ICAM or comparable methodologiesProduce clear, detailed reports for internal stakeholders and clientsDevelop and deliver training on psychosocial incident investigation techniquesGovernanceDesign and implement HSEQ governance policies, frameworks, and best practicesReview HSEQ outputs to ensure compliance with Compass Group Australia standardsConduct weekly reviews of injury and illness data to ensure accurate classificationProvide training and support to leadership and staff on their governance responsibilitiesCrisis Management and Business ContinuityDevelop and maintain robust crisis, emergency management, and business continuity plansFacilitate risk identification, scenario planning, and impact assessmentsLead post-crisis reviews and integrate lessons learned to enhance future response strategiesOther ResponsibilitiesFollow Compass health, safety and security proceduresTHE PERSONMinimum of 5 years' experience in incident investigationStrong knowledge of governance frameworks and quality assurance practicesExcellent interviewing and communication skillsStrong organisational and task management capabilitiesDemonstrated ethical conduct aligned with professional standards and corporate valuesProven experience in crisis management and business continuity planningDesirableWorking knowledge of OSHA or injury classification systemsExperience in delivering training or holding relevant training qualificationsTHE BENEFITSWorking with a large global company means you can be assured that we have an attractive benefits program!
