The Salvation Army Australia's Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer short term crisis accommodation, medium term, supported transitional housing, children's and parenting services, counselling, outreach support, men's programs, and advocacy and support to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Family Support Worker - Sleepover to provide support and a crisis response to women and children victim - survivors in our 24 / 7 crisis accommodation service. Reporting to the refuge team leader the facility operates on a rotating roster and provides assistance to approximately 230 women & children per annum. The role will be instrumental in delivering high quality, safe and effective family violence response to those seeking support, safety and recovery.
You will successfully
Support the case management team in the ongoing implementation of case management plans and create a therapeutic environment with the crisis accommodation setting.Work within a client focused, trauma informed frameworkRespond to emergency situationsBuild effective relationships with clients that encourage self-determination and participation and uphold the principles of the National Family Violence Model of CareAdhere to the Family Violence Stream vision, mission and values and that of TSA and contributes to a collaborative approach within the team.Located in Perth, WA this is a permanent, part time position of 28 hours a fortnight and is primarily employed for sleep over shifts. located in Perth, WA. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 3 award.
You will have
Certificate IV qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related field OR demonstrated equivalent knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study / developmentRelevant experience working within the Family & Domestic Violence and homelessness sector is desirableKnowledge of Family & Domestic Violence, applies FDV models / practices, educates / promotes awareness of FDV to residentsDemonstrated experience in effectively dealing with the impact of traumaA current WA Drivers LicenceBe able to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in AustraliaWorking with Children's CheckWe are committed to providing a safe environment for our people.
