Northern Health is situated in the rapidly growing northern suburbs of Melbourne, which is experiencing significant growth and diversity, located less than an hour from Melbourne's CBD.

We are seeking motivated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrists to join the Northern Area Mental Health Service. Northern Health provides acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community, and home-based services across five main campuses : Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. Mental health services are also available at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, and Coburg.

Role Overview : The Consultant Psychiatrist will deliver high-quality treatment and care, collaborate with internal divisions and external partners, and contribute to service development, strategic planning, and innovation to optimize outcomes for patients, families, and carers. The role includes engagement in quality, safety, teaching, and research activities, participation in on-call and ECT rosters, and potential duties across various locations within the Mental Health Division.

Requirements : Experience and knowledge in all aspects of psychiatry Proven clinical and leadership skills in a mental health setting Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, agencies, stakeholders, consumers, and carers Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or an equivalent qualification Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia via AHPRA Next Steps : If interested, please click the 'Apply' button and follow the prompts.
