- Croissants at sunrise.
- Chefs with loud... oops I think I mean "strong" opinions.
- And a leadership team who actually want HR to be in the room - not just cleaning up messes.
Still reading? You might be our kind of human.
This isn’t HR for the faint-hearted or freshly minted. It’s for someone who knows how to win the trust of the 2am baker, handle the chaos of cafés, and tell a staff member their “vibe hire” is a walking Fair Work violation - all before lunch.
The business?
A proudly WA-born bakery + hospitality group that believes in food that nourishes and people who give a damn. No foam towers or silver cloches - just quality ingredients, long hours, good music, and even better humans.
You’ll Be the Person Who :
- Keeps the people piece humming : From advising, to investigations (hopefully not many), to training, you’ve got it covered.
- Coaches, not lectures : You support leaders to lead - even when they’d rather bake focaccia than have a tough chat.
- Understands award interpretation isn’t an art, it’s a labyrinth : And you know how to navigate it.
- Spots a culture wobble a mile off : And isn’t afraid to do something about it.
- Is across safety and incidents like ants on jam : And can it manage with great communication.
- Loves food. Like, really loves food : Not a must… but you’ll be surrounded by it and at times might be mucking in and helping out in the factory.
What’s NOT In This Role :
- Suits
- Buzzwords
- Layers of approvals
- KPI dashboards that track smiles per hour
- Boring
- Pretend inclusivity posters in the staffroom
Instead, You’ll Get :
- A 3-day-a-week role that actually respects your time
- A business that cares about people without making a song and dance about it
- A team that values initiative, honesty, and the occasional dry joke
- A spot at the table - even if that table has flour on it
- A leadership group who’ll back you, challenge you, and trust you
You’ll Need :
- 5+ years in HR, preferably around hospitality, retail, venues or creative chaos
- Strong understanding of award interpretation (Hospitality, Fast Food, Manufacturing)
- Experience working with founders or fast-paced business owners
- Calm energy, a good brain, and the guts to speak up
- Bonus points if you’ve ever mediated between two chefs at 6am over who burnt the danishes
