- The Team
The National Event Management section contributes to national consistency through a range of business-as-usual tasks and projects fundamental to election events. This includes :
- Polling day and post polling day activities, including polling place and OPC operations, declaration exchange process and overseas voting.
- Senate solutions and counting the senate.
- Deployment and use of Electronic Certified Lists (ECLs).
- Monitoring and oversight of the nominations process.
- National processes and tool for premises management and inspections.
The section is part of Delivery and Support Branch whose role is to lead preparation and delivery of electoral services by the AEC, in line with the Election Readiness Framework and Election Ready Road Map.
- The Opportunity
The Project Officer supports the Assistant Director and other Project Officers in the day-to-day management and delivery of projects relating to the conduct of an Electoral Event, within the Delivery and Support Branch. The role includes participating in section planning for short term tasks and contributing to strategic planning for longer term initiatives.
This position is responsible for undertaking moderately complex work, to contribute to the delivery of different projects throughout the election cycle and across the Branch as agency priorities necessitate and as directed by management. Projects may include :
- Electronic certified lists.
- Voting coordination and operations (including overseas voting, polling operations and premises management).
- Senate scanning and results.
- Event coordination and results operations (including nominations, results, declaration exchange, out-posted centre operations, close seats and scrutineers).
- Any other project required from time to time as a result of a business improvement and / or legislative change.
