About the role
The role involves providing consultative rehabilitation specialist services within acute wards and the community in the following areas :
- Specialist Rehabilitation consulting services for Ipswich Hospital, rural facilities, and Australian Health and Hospital services external to the Ipswich Hospital referrals.
- Inpatient services : Stroke and Rehabilitation Services at Ipswich Hospital, Rural Rehabilitation Services, future service locations.
- Outpatient clinics in community-based rehabilitation settings or other outpatient settings.
The successful applicant will provide clinical care to patients on a day-to-day basis, lead the associated multidisciplinary team to ensure the provision of appropriate patient care to the highest standard. Provide professional leadership within a specialist rehabilitation medical service, and provide training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care members.
The Department is accredited for training of registrars with the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine, Royal Australasian College of Physicians. The Department of stroke and rehabilitation has established highest standard for stroke care and rehabilitation services in Australia.
About you
Commitment to the principles of quality in health care including leading initiatives relating to quality improvement, research, risk management, service evaluation and strategic service delivery planning.Extensive clinical experience with appropriate knowledge and skills extending across the range of Rehabilitation Medical disciplines, with an ability to deliver quality speciality care to patients in a clinical setting including directing the process of assessment, admission, ongoing care, transfer and discharge of patients.Contribute to the establishment and fostering of relationships within the medical specialities of the Division of Medicine, between the Department and other Hospital and Health Service departments and services to ensure the continuum of care for the patient.Commitment to leading the performance, development and evaluation of the education programme for clinicians at an undergraduate and specialist training level.Applied sound business management skills to plan the financial function of the service.Enables collaboration and enhances connectivity in the provision of a Medical Service within a multi-disciplinary team by demonstrating effective communication and promoting understanding, respect and trust between different groups and professionsMandatory RequirementsVaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01 / 16About West Moreton Health
