Senior Payroll Officer Opportunity - CBD BASED "Hands on" delivery while reporting through to CFO Attractive package on offer circa $125k - $150k Base + Super Our client is an industry leader within the mid-tier mining sector in Western Australia. They operate with a tightknit and efficient head office team and have experienced steady growth, with a workforce of approximately 400+ staff, projected to grow to 800+ within the next 2-3 years.

To support this growth and review new payroll options, we are seeking a Senior Payroll Officer who will be hands-on and work closely with accounts and HR. The role involves reviewing current systems and processes, with a focus on continual improvement to ensure smooth weekly payroll operations for all staff.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in running and improving payroll processes, including tasks such as allocations, understanding EBAs, site rates, allowances, superannuation, and payroll tax. This role is suited for someone who enjoys a challenging environment with opportunities for system improvements.

Key requirements : Experience in Mining, Oil & Gas, Construction, or Industrial services with multi-site exposure Ensure payroll compliance with awards, enterprise agreements, and statutory obligations Process weekly payrolls accurately and on time Conduct regular data audits Address payroll queries promptly Prepare and reconcile payroll tax, PAYG, super, and other deductions Continuously improve payroll efficiency across processes, systems, and practices Lodge STP, oversee year-end processes, and assist with audits Identify and implement process improvements Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a proactive mindset Our client offers strong industry retention and genuine career development opportunities.
