Compliance Support Officer

Compliance Support Officers work within the Environmental Services and Regulation (ESR) division of the Department of Environment and Science. The division provides targeted, consistent and transparent regulation that facilitates sustainable development in Queensland. Regulation activities are aligned with environmental outcomes without placing unnecessary burden on industry or the community. ESR proactively manages and monitors environmental risks through a modern and innovative regulatory framework that includes assessment, compliance, investigation and enforcement programs. ESR also provides extensive frontline services both centrally and regionally.

Specifically, Compliance Support Officers in DES support officers delivering compliance within regional locations, which includes compliance inspections and complaint and incident investigations. The teams within which Compliance Support Officers work are also responsible for environmental management of issues impacting on land, air, water and people including air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution and waste. Compliance Support Officers work alongside Environmental Officers providing support to their team in the undertaking of these compliance and investigative responsibilities.

You will support officers delivering compliance activities, including compliance inspections and complaint and incident investigations. The team you will support are also responsible for environmental management of issues impacting on land, air, water and people including air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution and waste. Compliance Support Officers work alongside Environmental Officers providing support to their team in the undertaking of these compliance and investigative responsibilities.

This position in based in the Maroochydore office. Travel and assistance to the Caboolture office may be required.
