Fremantle Freight & Storage has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Operations Manager to join our team. In this key leadership role, you will report directly to the State Manager and play a crucial part in driving the ongoing success of our fleet operations. We are looking for someone who can lead with expertise, improve efficiencies, and ensure smooth transport operations within the business.

What you’ll be doing

Leading and developing operational teams, fostering accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement

Managing Wharf Cartage operations including fleet utilisation, fatigue management, scheduling, and staff performance

Ensuring compliance with OHS, NHVL, and environmental regulations, and driving a strong safety-first culture

Investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions to improve workplace safety and operational risk

Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify improvement opportunities in efficiency, cost, and service delivery

Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, regulators, and internal teams to ensure seamless service and operational success

What we’re looking for

Previous experience in transport or logistics operations.

Strong understanding of compliance, fatigue management, and transport industry regulations

Demonstrated success in leading and motivating large, diverse teams to achieve business goals

Proficiency in transport management systems such as 1-Stop TMS and sound IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

A proactive problem-solver with a focus on operational efficiency, cost control, and customer satisfaction

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels
