- The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Learning and Development Officer to work within the Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) Learning and Development (L&D) Team.
The Team supports achievement of DASA's role to enhance and promote the safety of military aviation through education, training and the dissemination of safety information.
Our stakeholders include internal DASA staff and the external Defence Aviation Safety Community.
Specific duties of the position include :
Supporting and enabling DASA management and staff to identify learning and development requirements, and to design and implement effective education and training activities to satisfy these requirements. DASA is delivering a suite of 51 formal courses, with more courses planned to address emerging aviation safety related learning requirements.Training and mentoring DASA instructors to ensure they have the knowledge skills and attitudes to effectively deliver DASA courses.Maintaining oversight of the DASA Education and Training Framework to assure alignment with Defence and Air Force training governance requirements.Coordinating administrative support to facilitate the conduct of DASA education and training activities including significant conferences, symposiums, formal courses and internal staff skills development.About our TeamThe Defence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA) is responsible to enhance and promote the safety of military aviation through the implementation of a Defence Aviation Safety Program that promotes a generative safety culture and independently assures the effective management of Defence aviation safety risks.
DASA is a complex organisation consisting of Headquarters (HQ) elements and five Directorates providing aviation safety assurance and specialist engineering services to the Defence aviation community.
The organisation has a strength of around 300 personnel, made up of Australian Defence Force members and Australian Public Servants, and is physically located in Melbourne VIC, Canberra ACT, and Amberley QLD.
Coordinating and contributing to the work of a learning and development team consistent to a work plan and providing advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members.Performing analysis, design, development and evaluation of learning and development activities.Personally delivering training and assessment, whilst mentoring trainers, and assisting them to develop learning management documentation.Providing administrative support functions to facilitate education and training activities.
