Your new role

This is an exciting time in Sacred Heart Mission's (SHM) history, as we are now working within our bold new strategic plan,Strategy 2030 : Serving more people and more communities. As part of this plan, SHM is becoming more future ready and strengthening our foundations.

As a part of this, we are now seeking a Payroll Officer to ensure that accurate and timely payroll services are delivered to our 400+ employees. This role is available for 12-months with the likelihood for extension.

Your day-to-day

Responsibilities

As the Payroll Officer you'll work reporting to the Payroll Specialist to deliver end-to-end payroll services across the organisation. Your key responsibilities will include :

Collaborating as part of a two-person payroll team to process accurate and timely payroll. Providing prompt, high-quality support to staff by responding to payroll queries and resolving issues in a timely manner. Ensuring employee data is accurately set up and maintained in our systems Partnering with the People and Culture team to work together for processes related to the employee lifecycle, WorkCover payments, reporting, and other payroll-related functions.

We're looking for someone with

Proven experience supporting the delivery of accurate payroll services to a diverse range of employment types (including retail, community services, aged care and home care). Experience interpreting modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and collaborative mindset. Experience using Access Micropay (highly regarded). Experience with time and attendance technology (Humanforce experience is an advantage). A qualification in business, accounting or a related field (desirable).

A maximum-term full-time role (possibility of extension after 12-months), with flexible working arrangements available including working from home days. $38.47 – $41.25 per hour (dependent on experience & qualifications).
