Senior Storage Administrator

Our client, a large Federal Government organisation responsible for providing intelligence support to Australian military operations require the services of Senior Storage Administrator.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Produce designs, design patterns, configurations, and documentation in accordance with industry standards for storage and backup system.
• Perform deployments, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and administration functions for storage arrays, associated SAN and enterprise backup systems.
• Implement SAN infrastructure / architecture (FC HBA's, fabrics, SAN's, etc.) and Cisco MDS SAN switches.
• Deploy configure and manage enterprise storage arrays.
• Troubleshoot and restore storage systems after failures and issues.

Skills and Experience Required

• Manages the storage and backup systems to provide agreed service levels.
• A Bachelor Degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, applied math, statistics, physics or a related field.
• A strong understanding of storage technologies, SAN and NAS and protocols such as iSCSI, FC and FCoE.
• Background and demonstrated ability managing storage infrastructure, SAN infrastructure and backup infrastructure.
• Understanding of data replication technologies and schemas.
• Strong understanding of analytics software.
• Experience implementing and administrating Hitachi Vantara and Pure Storage storage systems, Commvault backup systems, and Cisco MDS SAN switching. (Desired)
