CSSD Technician

About the role

Sunnybank Private Hospital are currently seeking an experienced CSSD Technicians to join our dynamic perioperative team on a part time basis.

Key responsibilities will include :

• Decontamination / Thermal disinfection, inspection, packaging and sterilisation of all instrumentation for theatre and external clinical areas
• Reprocessing of endoscopes within our endoscopy cleaning gallay as required
• Comply with AS / NZ standards 5369 2024, and GENCA Guidelines
• Operate, interpret and document all machinery operational requirements
• Report and document all quality activities
• Ensure priority of instrumentation and processes

Essential Criteria :

• Certificate III in Sterilising essential
• Prior recent experience working with a Central Sterilising Services Department - preferred
• Sound knowledge of AS / NZ 5369 (2024) (formally, AS / NZ 4187 (2014))
• Sound knowledge of GENCA & GENSA guidelines
• Demonstrated knowledge of surgical / medical instrumentation and equipment
• Experience with tracking systems - desirable
• Endoscopy reprocessing experience or the willingness to learn
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail and time management
• A positive attitude and exceptional customer services skills
• Intermediate computer literacy skills - including MS office and various databases
• An interest in promoting best practice patient care
• A focus on professional development
