Reporting to the HR Manager, this position is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of employee relations and industrial relations. This role is pivotal for providing specialist employee relations and industrial relations advice, negotiating and maintaining positive relationships between management and employees, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and regulations.
You will be a point of contact for unions, and a source of direction, guidance and coaching to leaders and People and Culture staff in the management of complex misconduct and grievance matters. You'll engage with various stakeholders including unions, law firms and organisational leaders and employees.
You'll be an expert in employment law and have the ability to foster strong relationships, drive employee engagement, and influence business decisions in the face of competing business priorities and organisational change.
You will come with a Tertiary qualification in Industrial Relations, Employment Law or something similar. You'll have experience as an industrial relations advocate before industrial tribunals and a proven ability to negotiate on complex industrial relations matters. It would be beneficial to have strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks of varying complexity. Experience in both state and federal systems is highly beneficial.
This role comes with a competitive salary and is due to last for 3 months with the possibility of extension.
