The ClientAlcoa of Australia are a global industry leader in bauxite, alumina and aluminium products. IMS Workforce (IMSW) provides technical services to Alcoa with our teams embedded across all Alcoa operations in Western Australia.
- The Role
This role will see the Contractor Coordinator embedded into the Operating Centre's (OC) to coordinate Contractors working with the OC at the Wagerup Refinery. This position is based on a 40hr week, Monday - Friday. Additional hours may be required.
- Responsibilities & Duties
- Establish Alcoa Responsible Person (ARP) resource levelling plan within OC - sharing of ARP duties with OC
- Attend OC afternoon daily debrief and next shift job readiness meeting
- Validation of scaffold structures within OCs are required and reschedule removals as required
- Update the Work Execution Management Board daily with job progression
- Review the safe methods of work with the contractor and ensure they are to the appropriate standard
- Work with the contractor and the operations representatives to complete all job readiness pre-work activities and checks
- Notify the contractor they are OK to come to site to carry out the work
- Work with the contractor to understand all issues they have with safe work execution, work productivity, delays, variations and claims and develop actions to resolve
- Complete all Alcoa Responsible Person requirements of the Authority To Proceed
- Validate timesheets, contractor hours onsite and provided quotations / estimates
- Attend the weekday contractor management meeting and be able to discuss the pre-work readiness status of each contracting job that is planned to occur tomorrow and the jobs for the remainder of the week
- Complete actions developed at the weekday contractor management meeting
- Skills & Experience
- Preference to Mining, Refining, Chemical plant industries
- Trade / degree qualifications relevant to the Refining Industry (electrical, mechanical, civil, insulation etc) preferred as a minimum though relevant Industry experience will be considered (Health & Safety, Operations etc)
- Previous management of Contractors / Trades desirable
