- JOB DESCRIPTION
Mental health support workers collaborate with a psychosocial recovery coach to assist NDIS participants in recovery who have a mental health diagnosis. Fundamental to the role is the ability to provide participants with daily capability-building and social engagement in the community and at home.

- MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Empower participant to reach for and achieve their daily goals.
- Support and endorse positive routines and activities.
- Report changes in participant health and general wellbeing.
- Notify when additional services are requested or required.
- Protect participant rights and confidentiality to maintain dignity and privacy.
- Ensure participant visits are meaningful and encourage independence.
- Assist in social development through access to community activities, services and venues.
- Maintain schedules and deliver accurate and up-to-date work notes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and employee development activities.
- QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Cert III Individual Support, Mental Health, Aged Care, Community Services, Disability Work or similar.
- Current WWCC, Criminal Record Check and First Aid Certificate
- NDIS Screening Check and Induction
- COVID Safe Training
- Driver's License
- Reliable and comprehensively insured vehicle
- Smart phone
- EXPERIENCE
- Recognise the needs of people from diverse backgrounds.
- Communicate with sensitivity and discretion.
- Ability to complete basic administrative tasks.
- SKILLS
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Strong time management and ability to prioritize.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of programs and other computer systems for record keeping.
- Excellent problem solving and conflict management skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships.
