Up to full-time fixed term until 31 December 2026, with a possibility of extension Opportunity for a Research Fellow to conduct epidemiological research in child health and developmentBase Salary $122,830 + 17% superannuation About the opportunityThe Child Population and Translational Research team are seeking a Research Fellow – Epidemiologist / Biostatistician to lead research and data analysis on a range of studies as part of the Healthy Beginnings project focusing on child health and development.
This position will be based at the University of Sydney Camperdown campus.Your responsibilities will be to : contribute to the design, implementation, and management of child population health research studiesmanage ethics and data applications and contribute to preparation of research protocolsconduct advanced statistical analysis using linked administrative health, education and clinical databe involved in data preparation and management of linked datasetsdevelop statistical analysis plans, prepare manuscripts, reporting and presentation of research to various audiencescollaborate and liaise with a multidisciplinary team of academics, clinicians, consumers, policy makers and other stakeholdersAbout you, you will have : PHD qualifications in epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, public health with a strong component in epidemiology / biostatistics, or a related degreedemonstrated experience working in a research environment, and preparing and reporting results for peer reviewed publications, reports, and presentations, including to lay audiencesdemonstrated experience in data preparation, data management, and analysis of linked administrative health and clinical datasets, noting any experience using SQL for SQLserver or other related databases.advanced biostatistical analytical skills, e.g multilevel models, causal inference methods, machine learningexcellent interpersonal, written and oral communication and presentation skills to a wide range of audiencesproven ability to work independently, initiate, organise and manage projects; and as part of a multidisciplinary teamdemonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work with competing priorities and sometimes limited supervision.experience or, at a minimum, interest in child health researchSponsorship / work rights for AustraliaWork Rights : you must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply.
