Services Australia (the agency) is seeking experienced leaders with procurement, contract management and / or commercial skills.
Directors within the Chief Financial Officer division operate with a significant degree of independence and work under the broad guidance of a National Manager to deliver quality outcomes. In performing a leadership role, Directors identify and drive innovation, manage and lead change and have an active role in contributing to and implementing the branch, division and agency's strategic direction.
Roles may be in either :
- Procurement Branch which is responsible for procurement policy guidance and frameworks, uplifting the agency's procurement capability, partnering with business areas to support non-ICT procurements and managing the agency's large national contracts; or
- Technology Sourcing Branch which supports the agency to conduct ICT and digital procurements and manages contracts with strategic and whole of government vendors. The agency operates cutting edge technology solutions critical to Australians citizens across major life events. The Branch supports business areas to make it simple for Australians to interact digitally with government with some of the largest and most complex ICT environments in Australia.
Vacancies exist for Directors with relevant skills and experience, including :
Leading strategically important procurements, including complex ICT and digital procurements.Managing complex contractual arrangements and supplier relationships, particularly vendors under whole of government arrangements.Advising on conflict of interest and probity risks.Panel procurement and management of supplier relationships.Providing sound commercial advice and guidance.Experience in any of these areas, or the ability to quickly acquire relevant knowledge and skills, will be highly regarded.
Salary is negotiable based on skills and experience.

The key duties of the position include
Providing strategic advice to the agency on procurement and contract management issues and policy.Overseeing the development and delivery of contracted goods and services and the management of national contracts.Managing relationships with key agency stakeholders, other agencies, vendors and service providers. This can include undertaking complex contract negotiations and dispute resolution.Ensuring contract and procurement services are assessed and delivered in accordance with the intent of the contract, that risks are identified, and performance is effectively managed.Leading, developing and maintaining strategies and plans to optimise and improve the delivery of procurement and contract management services through innovation, systems and technology.Overseeing, reviewing and advising on a range of written material including business cases, Cabinet Submissions, Senate Estimate submissions, Ministerial and agency briefs and corporate documentation.Applying strong written communication skills to plan, prepare and develop documentation consistent with Commonwealth and agency writing and style guides.Leading a high performing and engaged team, managing business performance and resources, establishing priorities, monitoring attendance and wellbeing, and developing staff capabilities through coaching, mentoring and succession planning to enhance performance, engagement and retention.J-18808-Ljbffr
