Community Engagement Officer- Longreach

Join North & West Remote Health (NWRH) as a Community Engagement Officer and help drive awareness and access to the Carer Gateway program across regional Queensland from Longreach.

About the Role

As a key player in our Carer Gateway Services team, you'll lead local outreach and engagement activities—helping connect carers with the right support and resources. This includes delivering information sessions, registering carers for services, and working with hard-to-reach communities to build strong, inclusive connections.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote Carer Gateway services and identify 'hidden' carers in the community
• Engage carers with empathy and support them through the registration and referral process
• Plan and attend community events, network meetings and outreach activities
• Coordinate carer referrals and ensure accurate, timely documentation
• Represent NWRH across diverse stakeholder settings
• Support continuous improvement and community capacity building initiatives
• Deliver Carer Coaching and Peer Support Groups sessions in the allocated communities.

About You

You're a people person with a background in community engagement or development, and you're passionate about making a real impact in the lives of carers. You thrive working independently and as part of a team and are committed to culturally safe, inclusive service delivery.
