Our role is determined by climate change law. We administer schemes that contribute to the Australian Government climate target of reducing emissions to 43% below 2005 levels by 2030 and Net Zero by 2050.

About the Roles

The Compliance and Enforcement section is seeking to fill Senior Investigator and investigator positions at APS Level 5 and APS Level 6.

We are looking for investigator professionals who thrive in collaborative environments, contribute positively to team culture, and are eager to grow and share knowledge.

Duties of the APS Level 5 Investigator will include the following but not limited to :

• Conduct multiple routine investigations into suspected breaches of the law and aid Senior Investigators on more complex matters.
• Assist in the preparation of briefs of evidence for criminal and civil proceedings, and reports for administrative actions within agreed timeframes.
• Produce accurate and timely advice and written material for a range of internal and external audiences.
• Coordination and secretariate support for the Operational Decision Group.
• Identify opportunities and develop, implement and / or improve procedures.
• Establish and maintain effective and productive working relationships with CER staff, and counterparts in other agencies to achieve section and branch goals.
• Under guidance, develop and participate in proactive regulatory activities including site visits and compliance monitoring activities.
