Trades Assistant

As a fundamental player in the Defence industry, UGL plays a vital role in supporting the Defence Fuel Network across 100 Australian Defence bases nationwide.

From operations and maintenance to asset management and fuel supply services, our team's expertise ensures we deliver effectively and sustainably.

Due to expanding scope of works within UGL's portfolio, we are seeking to recruit a Trades Assistant to join our Operations & Maintenance team at the Tindal RAAF Base in the Northern Territory.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work in the Australian Defence environment to support the security of the Nation. Benefit from working with a Tier 1 services provider in a long-term operations and maintenance contract.

The Role Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be based at Tindal RAAF Base, supporting surrounding locations with occasional regional travel. You will be part of a core crew of UGL technicians.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

Assist with scheduled maintenance and service of fuel installation assets and equipment Support project work related to fuel installation and assets Assist with subcontracted work packages as required Support various sites in the region, with occasional travel across NT Perform general administration and ad hoc duties What You Need We are looking for a strong team player, self-starter, and dedicated employee who can leverage their experience and skills to deliver high-quality outcomes. The ideal candidate will have :

Previous labouring or mechanical trade experience (highly regarded) Experience in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas (advantageous but not essential) Experience with Defence fuels network or defence industry (highly regarded) Confined space and working at heights tickets (highly regarded) A strong commitment to safety Current or ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance Proficiency with IT and computer skills What We Offer This is a full-time, long-term contract role within the Defence sector, offering the chance to support national security in Australia.
