Detailer

As Australia's leading residential steel frame supplier, AusSteel has seen considerable growth and success over the last few years due to their unrivalled industry experience and drive to always challenge the way we build. Due to this success, the company is seeking a Detailer to start ASAP.

Reporting to the Design Manager and relevant Team Leader, you will be required to detail a variety of easy to medium jobs in regard to the level of difficulty. The role will also require you to assist in the training and mentoring of junior detailers.

• Key Responsibilities
• Read and interpret architectural and engineering plans provided by our customers to collect and interpret data.
• Provide support and direction to builders and carpenters on site for installation of the project to Australian Standards and as per his designs.
• Provide site support and organize any training and rectification work required.
• Design and engineer steel frame structures using the above Design software, span charts and consultation with structural engineer by Collecting and analysing data and carrying out computations for truss designs in ProCad
• Prepare drawings, plans, and layouts for the factory, on-site crews, and civil engineering work of house structures. (Sample drawings produced from drawings provided above, document
• Interpret engineering tables, and Company and Australian standards to design a structurally adequate frame.
• Communicate with office team members, Builders, carpenters, and engineers in a respectable and professional manner.
• Ensuring finished work (frame) is within specifications, regulations, contract provisions and estimated material cost.
• Complete any other tasks as directed by Management. (Eg. Training of new team members, attending meetings in office or on site etc.)
• The Requirements
• Experience in frame and truss detailing (Steel or Timber)
• Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn new tasks and processes.
• University or TAFE training in residential drafting is a bonus.
• Excellent computer skills required with experience across the Microsoft suite are a bonus.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members.
• Eagerness to learn and progress within the design and engineering team.

Pay : $73,500.00 - $80,000.00 per year
