The role of our receptionists is to provide a friendly competent service to each patient before and after a consultation, and to provide efficient administrative support to our doctors.
- Essential
- Excellent telephone manner; attention to detail; very organised; focused work habits
- A happy, collaborative, courteous, 'can-do' personality
- Initiative to work unsupervised within established medical reception processes
- Professional personal presentation, and a calm, reliable work demeanour
- Enjoys team work but can work independently with work colleagues
- Preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of Best Practice medical software, dealing with Medicare, Excel
- Knowledge of the Medicare Schedule Items and private / public billing processes
- Any experience in health care
- CPR training will be required if not current
- Responsibilities include
- Opening or closing the surgery
- Welcoming patients
- Answering telephone queries, booking appointments, billing patients
- Reconciling billing at the end of each session
- Tidying surgeries and waiting room
- Other duties as required
This position reports to the Practice Manager and training and support are provided
