Senior Infrastructure Specialist

This senior technical role sits within a statutory body established under federal legislation to support innovation in the Australian grains industry. It funds and oversees research aimed at improving productivity, sustainability, and profitability for grain growers, while also supporting the adoption and commercialisation of research outcomes.

With insights directly from the IT Senior Executive, Approach have been engaged to support an organisational ICT restructure. This role will assist in navigating technical uplift, maturity, and key delivery objectives.

As the Senior Infrastructure Specialist , you’ll lead the delivery and continuous improvement of enterprise systems spanning cloud (Azure), on-prem infrastructure, security, networking, and unified communications. It’s a hands-on role with technical ownership, stakeholder engagement, and the opportunity to directly influence infrastructure maturity.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead the infrastructure function, reporting to the Enterprise Systems Manager.
• Maintain and enhance core systems : VMware ESX, Windows Server, AD, SAN, DNS, DHCP, and Azure IaaS / PaaS.
• Manage cloud infrastructure including Entra AD, Azure Virtual Networks, VMs, Storage, and Resource Manager.
• Provide Level 2 / 3 support and oversee incident, problem, and change processes in line with ITIL.
• Drive infrastructure improvement initiatives aligned with business needs and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders across technical and non-technical domains.
