Job description

A world-leading designer and manufacturer of food processing and packaging systems, is seeking a highly experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Brisbane-based engineering team.

This is a senior role, ideal for someone who brings deep experience as both a Control Systems Engineer and a Project Engineer, with proven capability in delivering end-to-end industrial automation solutions.

Responsibilities :

Design and integrate PLC, HMI, SCADA, and MCC systems for advanced food processing machinery
Prepare and oversee functional design specifications, FAT documents, and commissioning checklists
Program and troubleshoot Siemens (TIA Portal, WinCC, S7) and Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, FactoryTalk View) systems
Manage full project lifecycles including engineering design, implementation, sub-contractor coordination, commissioning, and operator training
Work collaboratively in a 30-person engineering team, leading or contributing within a focused 8-person project engineering team
Provide remote support to field engineers and ensure technical delivery standards are upheld

Must-Have Experience :

10+ years in electrical engineering with proven experience as both a Control Systems Engineer and Project Engineer

Advanced knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems in Siemens and Allen-Bradley platforms

Strong documentation skills (e.g., FDS, commissioning checklists, QA sign-off)

Background in manufacturing, packaging, food processing, or similar industrial environments

Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

Comfortable with both technical deep dives and practical on-site project leadership

Preferred Qualifications :

Wonderware / Intouch experience

Functional Safety knowledge (AS4024, ISO13849)

Familiarity with sub-contractor management and international commissioning
