About the Role
The Office of Bushfire Risk Management (OBRM) is looking for someone to contribute to continual improvement in bushfire risk management across Western Australia. You’ll need to be a strategic thinker, problem solver and good communicator. Experience in managing natural hazards will be an advantage, especially knowledge of planned burning.
As OBRM’s Bushfire Risk Assurance Senior Program Officer you will contribute to a program that helps the bushfire sector to maintain best practice in fire management. You’ll engage with local governments, State Government agencies, commercial operators, and Traditional Owners to ensure organisations that manage fire also effectively manage the associated risks. You will be called on to provide expert advice on the management of risk, translating risk management principles into relatable advice and guidance applicable to diverse organisational, cultural, and environmental settings.
To succeed in this role you will be required to develop strong working relationships with stakeholders across the State. The role will provide opportunities to work with a variety of fire managers, in many different parts of Western Australia.
The position will be Perth based. A successful interstate applicant will have some removal costs met.
