The School Counsellor ideally would have eligibility for membership with the APS and school-based experience. The position involves counselling students, working with parents and staff in the management of social and emotional difficulties, conducting relevant assessments, and recommending appropriate interventions and support strategies.This is a permanent, full-time position starting as soon as possible. It is an excellent opportunity for a professional wanting to work in a school environment. The College offers opportunities for professional development, a supportive work environment, and new experiences.Post-graduate qualifications in Psychology / School Counselling;Understanding of Child Protection, Disability Discrimination, and Racial Vilification matters pertaining to schools;Registration with AHPRA;Expertise and experience to fulfill the responsibilities outlined above;Ability to work effectively in a team and to display ethical behaviors when working with staff, students, and their families.Experience working with or having a good understanding of the need of boys;Excellent written and communication skills;Ability to give attention to detail e.g. in record-keeping and timely follow-up.The College has a strong Christian mission and provides a dynamic, educational experience, inspiring our Scots boys to become fine young men of integrity and principle who support each other in their quest for excellence.
