Education Assistant – Senior School

We are currently seeking relief Education Assistants to support our teachers and students in the Senior School.
Role & Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of the Coordinator of Learning Diversity, Heads of Schools and teachers, and independently and collaboratively with other education assistants and educational paraprofessionals to support students’ learning.
- Implement intervention and learning programmes for individuals or small groups to improve literacy, numeracy, and general capabilities.
- Provide targeted support to individuals with diagnosed learning difficulties and disabilities within a positive framework to assist them in achieving their potential.
- Support all students under the direction of subject and class teachers within a classroom or small group setting.
- Adopt a flexible approach to the role and the ability to multi‑task and problem‑solve.
- Foster a child‑safe environment and culture where inclusivity and diversity are respected and embraced to ensure every child achieves their hopes and dreams.
- Effectively use assistive and other technologies to support student learning.
- Develop independence in students as they progress through the various stages of schooling.
- Use sound written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with students, staff, and families.
- Be an excellent role model and mentor for students across the College.
- Actively contribute to the broader College community and engage in our co‑curricular programme.
- Support our values and work to help us achieve our mission and vision.
Qualifications & Experience
Hold a Certificate IV in School‑Based Education Support (CHC40221) (or equivalent or higher).Hold a current Working with Children Check and a Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting Certificate (HLTAID012).Have previous experience as an Education Assistant working in small groups of secondary‑aged students and with individual students.Have experience working with students with diverse needs, including those with sensory impairments and socio‑emotional needs.Have the ability to foster students’ independent learning habits.Have the ability to work in a flexible working environment with teachers, education assistants, education paraprofessionals and students.Be experienced in using Microsoft for Education and the adaptive use of technologies to support student learning (desirable).Be an excellent role model and mentor for students across the College.Actively contribute to the broader College community and engage in our co‑curricular programme.Support our values and will work to help us achieve our mission and vision.Application Questions
