Overview

St John of God Health Care is seeking a skilled and strategic Lawyer (Commercial) to join our Legal team.

In this pivotal role you will provide high‑quality, timely legal advice and support across a broad range of commercial matters, helping to shape and protect the organisation’s interests.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive, commercially sound legal advice and strategic guidance to support business operations.
• Draft, negotiate and review a wide variety of contracts, including leases, property contracts of sale, construction contracts, software licences, supply of goods and services, student placement agreements, clinical service contracts, health fund contracts and joint venture agreements.
• Assist with projects such as property and corporate acquisitions, redevelopments and major tenders.
• Advise on privacy, health insurance and laws / regulations impacting the health sector.
• Seek assistance from senior lawyers where required.
• Manage instructions to external lawyers and monitor and compare costs.
• Assist in reviewing policies and procedures.
• Conduct legal research.
