The role of the Mechanical Quality Engineer is to undertake defined Quality Assurance projects to enhance the quality of APT Engineering systems and products. The role plays a critical role in the final release of products and tracking key data.
Primary Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Management
- Complete required quality assurance documentation for the final release of products.
- Create Monthly Monitoring and Analysis Report
- Authorised to sign the ‘Certificate of Conformance’ to approve the final release of products to the customer.
- Ensure that the integrity of company’s quality management system is maintained when changes implemented.
- Ensure all intended changes are carried out in a planned manner.
- Monitor the performance of external providers and company’s ‘Approved supplier List’.
- Monitor and analyse the effectiveness of each process through set KPIs.
- Analyse internal & external non-conformities.
- Monitor the degree of customer satisfaction through data analysis.
- Maintain compliance of AS / NZS ISO 9001 : 2015 accreditations.
- Maintain compliance of AS 9100 (Aerospace) accreditations.
- Verify QA Planning of all new Work Orders.
Audits
Conduct internal audits at APT and evaluate performance indicators to determine whether the quality management system is being effectively implemented and maintained.Supporting Annual Certifying Audits and Customer AuditsCompany & Business Support
Continually improve company’s quality management system processes.Prepare and conduct employee training of quality management system and its processes as required.Assist QA Manager as requiredProduction Planning
Project manage large orders as requiredDevelop Work Orders as requiredEssential Skills and Experience

Mechanical Engineering QualificationsInterpret complex drawings including GD&TAuditing to AS9100Demonstrated experience in quality assurance / quality controlHighly Proficient MS Office Skills and AdobeDeveloping Information and Data for a variety of different audiencesWhile not essential, it will be desirable if you are familiar with manufacturing processes and treatment of materials; have experience with quality processes and procedures and excellent knowledge of AS / NZS ISO 9001 : 2015 and AS9100 and associated quality standards; and have experience with ProShop ERP
