We are seeking a Commercial Manager to business partner with the networks leadership group to support month end, forecasting and planning outcomes for revenue, opex, capex & business cases to ensure achievement of both customer and financial objectives.
This is an ambitious and diverse role, and the person responsible must be comfortable engaging with people at all levels of the organisation including C‑level executives, VPs and Heads of across Networks and the wider Optus business. The role will be required to present to, partner with, and influence senior people across Networks to deliver financial outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Monthly results reporting covering Cost of Sales, Staff and other Non‑Staff Opex and Income, and capitalisation of labour and non‑labour costs.
- Monitoring and managing expenditure to meet AOP and / or forecasts and supervising material risks and opportunities throughout the year.
- Oversee commercial aspects of government grants and programs, including audit planning, coordination, and external liaison.
- Quarterly forecasting and annual planning processes for these divisions, and input to preparation of the total Networks Opex budget plan (AOP).
- Development of process documentation for key financial activities in the Networks Commercial team.
- Regular interface with Commercial Centre of Excellence, corporate Financial Operations and other finance groups within Optus & Singtel.
- Provide commercial support to Network SLT’s and liaise with the Commercial Leadership team regarding issues and impacts to operating and capital budgets.
What makes you perfect for the role?
Degree or equivalent experience qualified in a business / commercial field with professional accounting qualifications i.e. CA / CPA.Confirmed Commercial / Financial management experience with exposure to both financial and management accounting across a senior level of collaborators.Industry knowledge in Telecommunications / Infrastructure networks is highly desirable.Proven ability to communicate and present financial results and analysis to an executive level audience.Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail, demonstrating a high degree of commercial competence.What’s in it for you?
