The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District Drug and Alcohol Service offers free, non-judgemental services and treatments for drug and / or alcohol use, including information and support for families. Our service offers specialist drug and alcohol doctors, nurses and allied health staff who respect the client's right to choose from a range of treatments offered with our services underpinned by a philosophy of harm reduction.
We are currently seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to join our team on a Casual Basis. This position will ensure a safe and effective patient-centred nursing care to the patients / clients and carers of Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.
The Registered Nurse will act as an advocate for the specific needs of all patients / clients and carers including those from the indigenous population or other multi-cultural groups providing appropriate care to the patient / client undergoing specialised procedures.

What You Will Bring To The Role
Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) Demonstrated experience and clinical skill in Drug & Alcohol as a Registered Nurse (including Completion of a new graduate RN program or equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse). Experience in acute care and Mental Health will also be considered Demonstrated excellent time management, organisational skills and ability to prioritise work Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care that is non-judgemental and empathetic in approach Demonstrated effective communication skills - written and verbal Demonstrated commitment to professional development Ability to work a flexible roster, day, evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit / service requirements
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
