About the Role
Public Sector People are proud to partner with Georges River Council to recruit a highly capable Coordinator Development Assessment. This leadership role involves driving planning outcomes and supporting sustainable development across a growing Local Government Area (LGA).
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate development assessment operations for timely and effective planning decisions
- Mentor and support staff across assessment functions
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and planning instruments
- Represent the Council in Land & Environment Court matters
- Implement continuous improvement and customer service excellence
- Liaise with stakeholders including planning panels, solicitors, and the community
- Deliver complex and high-profile assessments and reports
Qualifications and Skills
Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Building Surveying, or related fieldsKnowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979Experience leading planning assessment functions, preferably in local governmentExcellent communication, negotiation, and mediation skillsStrong report writing and analytical abilitiesCollaborative leadership style focused on service excellence and innovationWhy Work at Georges River Council?
