As a WHSE Specialist, you’ll be joining the team that enables core business operations by embedding health, safety, and environmental standards across all pillars and all project phases. The team provides expertise in risk mitigation, compliance, technical specification, and management of high‑risk activities. Akaysha’s view on safety is : every day, and in every way.

This role supports all project phases up to Operations, with a focus on refining processes to better enable Akaysha’s teams and deliver accurate HSE metrics. You’ll enhance the Contractor Management Framework by integrating the Assurance Program and establish a monthly assurance reporting cadence across all projects.

To effectively guide each stage of the project, you’ll collaborate with internal pillars including Development and Delivery, Engineering and Legal, Risk and Compliance, alongside building external partnerships with Principal Contractors and OEMs.

Alongside regular, planned travel to sites in Central NSW, Queensland, and Victoria, the role will :

• Oversee contractor and supplier WHSE compliance, lead assurance activities to close‑out, and monitor performance with escalation of non‑compliance.
• Ensure environmental approval commitments are met across the project lifecycle by embedding EMS processes into project teams and managing environmental risks in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Embed Safe Systems of Work into project delivery, guide WHSE in design and risk, and promote Human & Organisational Performance (HOP).
• Drive WHSE improvements across project phases by managing reporting and streamlining processes to reduce duplication.
