About the role

We are seeking a Specialist – Safety, Health, Environment & Security (SHES) to lead our Deer Park Chemical Manufacturing site. This full‑time, permanent site leadership role plays a vital part in shaping and driving our safety culture.

Our commitment to the safety, health and wellbeing of our people, customers, the environment and the communities in which we operate underpins everything we do. This critical role leads in providing assurance in achieving SHES objectives through stewardship of improvement in occupational safety, health, environment and process safety performance indicators.

What you will be doing

• Ensure site compliance with regulatory and Orica SHE requirements by completing assurance processes and aligning the Permit to Work program with Orica’s Group Standards.
• Provide visible leadership to promote safe behaviours and correct conditions that conflict with Orica’s SHEC values and standards.
• Develop, monitor, and continuously improve SHE KPIs to guide line management and SHE support teams in identifying focus areas and deliverables.
• Coordinate SH&E auditing, investigations, training, and action processes across the site, ensuring consistent implementation and follow-through.
• Advise and support line management in fulfilling their SH&E responsibilities and maintaining compliance with SHE values and standards.
• Lead the development and implementation of SHE improvement projects, including process safety, risk assessments, and occupational health initiatives at the Deer Park Site.
• Drive operational efficiency by optimizing plant and equipment utilisation, managing people resources, and facilitating the rollout of the Major Hazard Management program and Stop Cards.
