Job descriptionTertiary qualifications in Education, Behavioural Sciences, Communication, Marketing or Engineering, or equivalent relevant industry experience. Current Class C Drivers Licence Awareness of Road Safety education traffic management Knowledge of safe systems and other approaches for addressing road safety issues Strong communication and interpersonal skills The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Flexible working opportunities, such as 9-day fortnight for full time permanent and temporary fixed term employees, hybrid work arrangements, part time and job share work opportunities Generous leave provisions, including : Long Service Leave after 5 years (transferable between Councils) Parental Leave (up to 24 weeks) Employee Health and Wellbeing Program, as well as Fitness Passport and annual flu vaccinations Employee Assistance Program Professional Development Opportunities Motor vehicle novated leasing and salary sacrifice opportunities
$85,010 to $95,198 per annum (based on 70 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation and a 9 day fortnight. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience. A vehicle allowance will also be provided.

Road Safety Officer
- Communication and engagement with community on road safety related matters
- To research, develop and implement plans, programs and campaigns aimed at increasing road safety and active transport
- Increase awareness among residents, community groups, government agencies and other key stakeholders in the Hornsby Shire of road safety issues
- Seek continued funding for Council’s road safety program
- Prepare regular reports and attend meetings with stakeholders as required
- Program management of development and delivery of community engagement
