Community and Disability Support Worker
Community and Disability Support Work assists NDIS participants with a variety of needs in different ways.
Duties and Responsibilities are :
- Supports people with disability with daily activities such as mobility, housekeeping tasks, personal care, medication and meal preparation
- Negotiates with individuals and families regarding the acceptance of care provided
- Provides emotional support, and assists in managing depression, confusion and grief
- Identifies and facilitates community-based social activities for people with disability
- Assists people with disability to access disability support services
- Supports people with disability with training and employment
- Manages risks and emergencies in a home care setting
The Candidate
To be successful in this role, the candidate would have :
A compassionate and empathetic demeanour.Strong listening and oral communication skills.Strong relationship-building skills.The ability to maintain clear professional boundaries.Experience with challenging behaviours (Desirable)An enthusiastic outlook, very open, friendly, and a bubbly personality.Must have a driver’s licence.Available to work on a variety of shifts including mornings and evenings.Salary : $35-$40 an hour + Super
Experience :
At least one year experience working as Disability Support Worker (Preferred but not essential)
Licence / Certification required :
