HDR is a company where employee-owners are fully engaged in creating a welcoming environment. We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with Medium Voltage experience to join our Building Engineering Services team.

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support our Technical Director in leading and overseeing the design of medium voltage designs for data centre projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to carry out detailed design and assume the role of design leader, coordinating with other engineering disciplines.

In this role, you will be responsible for :

• Assisting the Group Leader with monitoring engineering / CAD resource requirements
• Detailed design (MV systems)
• Leading and delivering concept and detailed design of MV substation primary systems
• Designing primary systems, including producing SLDs, HV substation layouts, and equipment / materials lists
• Carrying out engineering concept design to detailed design, tender, and contract on-site supervision
• Liaising with the design team to produce coordinated designs
• Providing positive contributions to design / project meetings
• Maintaining regular design reviews and checks
• Monitoring project progress, design variations, and financial budgets
• Maintaining excellent client and design team relationships
• Pursuing new business opportunities
• Assisting the Group Leader with identifying and implementing personal training / CPD requirements
• Participating in site works as required
