We are looking for an experienced and passionate Established Category Buyer - Own Brands to join our dynamic commercial team on a 12 Month Max Term Contract.
In this role, you’ll shape the Own Brands category, curate a range that reflects current trends, and meet evolving customer needs in a leading e‑commerce environment.
Responsibilities
- You understand and drive company-wide strategies and OKRs.
- Lead weekly trade analysis to track sales performance, market trends and competitor activity.
- Translate analysis into strategic, actionable plans to improve NMV, profitability and stock cover.
- Deliver quarterly SWOT with clear actions and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align trade strategies with seasonal and long-term objectives.
- Rapidly respond to market shifts to meet budgeted sales plans.
- Plan balanced ranges across Core and Newness, including assortment and option planning.
- Partner with Design to align ranges with market trends and customer preferences.
- Forecast demand with Planning and build replenishment strategies to optimise inventory.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms and ensure product quality and sustainability alignment.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous supply-chain improvements.
- Work with Marketing and Creative to align product assortment, campaigns and brand messaging.
- Input into campaign creative to maximise product visibility and sales impact; maintain customer persona insights.
- Lead and develop direct reports through clear expectations, coaching and performance feedback.
- Own brand / category strategy, vision and budget with Senior Buyers, Planners and the Buying Manager, managing OTB and range accuracy.
- Take decision-making ownership of price architecture, category mix and supplier / cost strategies to meet financial KPIs.
- Adaptability to changes in the market and industry, being open to learning new skills and approaches.
- You will undertake any other duties as reasonably required by management.
About You
Ideally you will have previous experience as a Buyer / Product Developer working in a high volume business.Skilled in Excel reporting (including pivot tables and v-look ups).Strong communication skills with a great eye for detail.Excellent time management skills.A strong team player who embodies our ICONIC Principles.Life at THE ICONIC
