- Who we are
- The Electronic Certification (eCert) team
- is responsible for leading negotiation, implementation, and expansion of paperless for all sanitary and phytosanitary certification. The eCert team is in the unique position of working across certification for both exports and imports for the department. eCert is an electronic system to generate export certificates for traded food and agricultural commodities through a direct government to government exchange. Certificates provide assurances to importing countries concerning food safety and animal and plant health. The implementation of eCert provides an opportunity for agricultural goods to be cleared faster at point of entry and can provide assistance in identifying instances of food and certification fraud. Australia is seen as a global leader in eCert having helped develop international standards and guidance for eCert and continues to play a key role in multi-lateral standard setting forums.
- The Job
The duties will include but not limited to the following :
System Support : Setting up and maintaining of existing paperless certification exchanges,Stakeholder Engagement : Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support our eCert goals.Administration & Coordination : Provide administrative support for projects and key meetings.Research & Analysis : Conduct research and data analysis to inform eCert decisions and priority setting.Document Preparation : Create and review essential documents, including briefs, reports, presentations and instructional material to support decision-making and implementation.Project Support : Assist in delivering key projects, ensuring they align with our regulatory and operational objectives.Please notethat the merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature.What are we looking forKnowledge and experienceHave experience or an understanding of the importance of establishing and maintaining stakeholder relationships.Have experience achieving results while remaining positive and responding to pressure in a calm manner.Have a knowledge or awareness of Australian agriculture and international trade.Have an understanding and appreciation of the department's export food safety and biosecurity regulatory frameworks.
